The background of the president.Keith was born and grew up in the countryside in England, spending his spare time as a youth with the British Red Cross and on his Uncles farms. He also obtained the bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh awards and a certificate for meritorious service from the Red Cross, mainly for voluntary work he did connected with the elderly. While at school, Keith wanted to be a school teacher and although he gained the entry qualifications for this, when he left, instead he decided to enter the field of science working on development in early computers and guided control systems at the Royal Military College of Science. To gain more practical experience he moved to a production control role in an electronics factory and developed a new production control center before moving to set up a new Medical physics unit in a large hospital. Later Keith became a computer business systems analyst/designer after an intensive degree level course. and worked in a national computer burial, before establishing what was to become a major international micro computer company. Keith had to originally build personally his own disk drives and interfaces to make tape based micros usable in business and agriculture. He wrote the first payroll system in the UK to run on a micro computer, and the fist full accounting system for a micro. He went on to produce a variety of specialist software for farming and agriculture, major charities, market traders, genetic breading of race horses, and more. He first made the international as well as UK national news when he developed a means of pirate proofing computer software. He spent some time in the USA, originally to go with advanced software he developed, but later as a director of an international merchant bank.Over the years Keith has been involved in many unpaid charitable causes, many hands on. He ran several Red Cross units, taught cadets, ran summer camps, undertook the management of disaster training, ran a massive, Jubilee project, and more. Within the Duke of Edinburgh award movement he helped to run a unit for underprivileged and problem teenagers on one of the poor estates in Swindon, training and motivating them, supervising them on expeditions and more. He was for years secretary of a charity for families with disabled children in South Wales, helped to get funding and acted as a volunteer driver on summer schools for the special need children, help run an adaptive movement group Sunday mornings to get disabled children mobile using a trampoline and other techniques. He was trained as a volunteer councilor by Echo, an organization that councils and supports parents with terminally ill children, he represented families on social service committees, and meetings up and including the welsh office. He was a governor of a special school. He provided training for people within the New Atlantis clubs, allowing many events to be run from his home, providing hospitality for free to large numbers of people on a regular basis. He has campaigned for better deals for disabled, for the end of mental hospitals, for the rights of fathers and grandparents to see their children after a divorce, and more. He helped to set up and run a community council in a large town, a business club to encourage and help people to start their own businesses and more. He has helped many people personally, usually by physically helping them, but on some occasions financially ranging from paying for an old ladies car to be put back together after her grandson pulled it apart, to paying off the rent arrears of a young couple who looked it they were to lose their home. He has bought vehicles and lent them and other items including computers to people who needed them for their work, and helped many people to find employment as well as training people so they had the skills. As a teenager he was a member of the Young Conservatives( UK political party), set up and ran a new large branch and was its political officer. He attended the Conservative Party conference two years as a representative of the constituency. He left the party after he pointed out, and no action was taken over some county councilors were offering consultancy services in relation to planning consent while controlling it, and it appeared that without the consultancy service planning consent would not be available. While involved with the conservative party he also attended meetings by every other party, including the communist party, most of who appreciated the chance for dialogue. He has over the years developed a method of organizing discussions where people with totally different views can discuss and end up working towards common goals. He is always interested to explore others views, and motivations. Keith is an idealist, and fights action by anyone for self interest. He is not driven by tokenism, money, and does not want awards or any personal return for what he does. When asked why over the years he has done so much to help so many people. He just says it needed doing. Although setting himself idealistic standards he does not enforce them on others, and will often retire early at events so as to allow other to enjoy themselves. When asked by guidance by citizens of New Atlantis he normally says something to the effect "Do what you will, providing that you believe it is right, so long as it does not harm any other person." Keith is a published author having written, two fiction books and a number of non fiction books. the fiction books involve a treasure hunt with cash reward and were written in an attempt to motivate people within the UK to discover more parts of their own country. He has also written a very large number of articles for magazines including writing 32 pages for every edition of one national magazine from the point it was established till it closed down several years later. Although he has made a number of TV appearances, he really enjoys local radio and has made very many appearances, and once was in 8 radio shows in the same day. Live hour long phone ins on BBC local radio is says was his favorite. Originally he had to travel across the UK but after he learnt how to use one of the BBC's smaller studios and can now broadcast for any station from any of the BBC studios. he has never need paid to take part in a broadcast. his wife Tracey has been involved in many broadcasts, as well as making the headlines when she was younger on TV and the national press as the youngest female director of a UK international company. Keith constantly attends as well as runs course, and the last CV he produced was 17 pages long. the courses vary from Red Cross Public relations to Writers Guild animation, from Microsoft Software development to Bristol university applied scientific photography. He once did all the ICL (mainframe computer manufacturer) courses one after the other for 6 months so he could operate mainframe computers, programme them, develop systems, handle communications, and much more. He has also driven tanks, flown hovercraft, and covered a wide range of other activities. the hardest course he says was glass blowing for laborority use. Keith has his own Parramotor, this is a paraglider, it looks like a modern parachute but is a self inflating wing. An engine with large propeller straps on his back. This kit which will go in the back of a car car be quickly assembled and with only a few steps forward allows Keith to take off and fly. In 2000 he had a heart attack, and has since not flown the Paramotor. Amongst the other skills he has is photography, video, scriptwriting, producing and directing, computing, programming, internet development, navigation by road, sea and air, as well as in open country. He drives a car has a bicycle and in line skates. At one time he had a sea going cruiser. Keith says that, "We all need in bad times a light at the end of any long tunnel, and in good time a target to aim for. Nothing is impossible, providing you attain the knowledge and put in the labor"
If you look deeper you will see two shaded areas of land with a vision island like in the ocean between them. You will also see that the shield itself is not a decorative item but the blade of a garden spade, and the knights helmet where the handle joins. Signifying practical action or labor as well as words. You will see that the hand of cards in the magic element shows that not all the cards are known at the same point, in the same way as not all the paths through life are visible. There is a lot more besides note the two trumpets broadcasting to different levels, the leaves of nature, the flash of inspiration (yellow) around the wand and near the computer. What else can you see. |
