Reports Club
UK IIS Historic Reports Club NA introduction

The Reports Club is now a part of the IIS, this document is enclosed for historic reasons and shows the original definition of the reports club It was produced around 1995.

We have a printing machine capable of short high speed runs plus print reports on a demand basis with two laser printers. Ideally in the future all reports will be published on the internet, preferably within the library section of a new Atlantis site.

The Reports Club

The Reports Club is a club that all members of new Atlantis are members of without additional cost. Later it may also be open to others, but for the time being it is not.

The objective of the club is make information available when required in an accurate and concise form. Allowing any member who has done some research to detail what they have found out and save others from having to duplicate effort unnecessarily.

Once running fully the club will have very long lists of reports available, but during the development period the number will slowly grow. There is no restriction to title, or subjects to be covered. The list will be increased by each member of the university of life completing two reports which will be added to our listings.

Ideally whatever your need or concern, from finding our that a member of the family has a medical condition to wanting to know how to choose the best medical insurance or how to undertake a particular task, you will in the future find the information available.

There will also be information you can learn from, maybe understanding stocks and shares or other investment means, or business techniques, or perhaps a hobby.

There are several sections we are keen to see develop quickly and these include the health areas, financial and expenses areas and business topics to help smaller businesses.

So you may ask how do we get copies of this information when we want it. There are three ways.

If you have a computer and a modem, you will be able to go in directly on to the BBS and download it (copy it from our Bulletin board to your own computer over a telephone line), and then either read it on screen or print it out.

You can order a copy, from the Bargain and Barter Club. It is printed out and despatched to you.

In many areas you will have either a local organiser or one of the local Knights who has access to the BBS, and will print and drop a copy around to you.

The costs.

Some reports are free, while there is a small charge for others, charged in favours to your Bargain and Barter Account. the exact cost is shown against each in the index that you use to find the reports of interest to you.

Royalties.

Authors of reports have the option to either make there reports free of royalties to members, or to have a royalty paid to there account on every printing or download of a report that they produced. The club actually prefers that you do make a small charge so that you are encouraged to both research and produce more and keep any reports that you have produced up to date. Local organisers and local knights who provide a service to members have to pay like everyone else for the downloaded item but has permission to keep a copy and print it out when required without additional payment.

Finding out what is available.

If you have a Computer and modem just call the computer BBS system of 01443 475900, and go to the Reports Club. If it is your first call to the BBS system, you will need to register, and at the time you can download or look at the index , but cannot download reports until the account is opened, which is done within 24 hours of you registering providing that at least one standing order payment for membership has been processed, or there is a positive balance in your favours account.

If your need is desperately urgent and you haven't registered on the BBS before then call the number you have for authorisations and they can get the BBS account opened up faster.

There is no charge looking at the index on line or downloading the index.

If you don't have a Computer and modem you can either order a copy of the index from the Bargain and barter club, or contract your local organiser, who will arrange for you to get a copy. There will be a very small charge for this just to cover the cost of production and getting it to you.

Once you have a copy of the index, which you will realise will go out of date and need to be replaced occasionally, you can get copies from the Bargain and barter club, and in ,Most areas locally either from the local organiser or a local knight who provides this service for members. The cost to you for a report is exactly the same in each case, but will should be faster obtained locally.

To order a report from the bargain and barter club, just complete a transfer form, listing at the bottom under  'for', the number of the report you want. You don't need to send a letter or anything else. To order the index just write 'Reports index', and leave the value blank, if you don't know it.

Getting your own report published

If you want to produce a report, and we hope that you will, you can get a copy of the report 'Report writer' and again if you do not have a copy of the index leave the value blank. This tells you how to submit a report, what formats you can choose from, about royalty payments, topics and the index entries, and previews on the BBS. Reports can be produced under your name or a sudanim. Please have a go, your work will be appreciated by many other members.

People who are working for a degree from the new Atlantis University of Life, produce two reports are part of there work, and information for them is included within there University of Life registration pack.
